Arts & Entertainment

The Blyth Valley punches well above its weight on the Arts front providing first rate performance, music, visual art and cinema.

The Cut in Halesworth offers a very varied programme of drama, concerts and exhibitions throughout the year while, every October, Halesworth Arts Festival provides a specially curated programme of arts events. Southwold has inaugurated a similar event. During August and September Waveney & Blyth Arts presents an environmental-themed arts programme featuring creative walks that take place across the area, entitled Celebrate the Waveney & Blyth.

June weekends see 130 Suffolk artists open their doors to the public under the Suffolk Open Studios umbrella. Many are within the Blyth Valley area and present a great opportunity to meet the artists working in every sort of media – oils, watercolours, acrylics, photography, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, glassware, sculpture, printmaking, mosaics and much more.

And let’s not forget Southwold’s popular Summer Rep Theatre and the excellent local am dram group.
